PostScript RIPS

There are several ways of RIPing and postscript file.

ESRI makes ArcPress for ArcView, an extension that greatly aids printing large maps. If you already have ArcPress for ArcInfo, check the corresponding extension that allows you to use it with ArcView.

Both Birmy Graphics and Epson make software RIPs for printing.

PDFs and Image Maps

Adobe Acrobat software uses Acrobat Distiller and Acrobat PDF Writer to produce software and platform independent files. PDFs are great ways of producing ArcView maps for the web or CDROM.

Use the ImageMap script to convert ArcView views into clickable image maps for the web.
